Antoine's is a Louisiana Creole restaurant located at 713 St. Louis Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Established in 1840 by Antoine Alciatore, it is one of the oldest family-run restaurants in the U.S. and a New Orleans icon. Famous for creating dishes like Oysters Rockefeller, pompano en papillote, Eggs Sardou, and Pigeonneaux Paradis, its traditions are preserved in Antoine's Cookbook by Roy F. Guste, a fifth-generation proprietor. The restaurant has hosted VIPs, including U.S. presidents and Pope John Paul II. Antoine's boasts a 25,000-bottle wine storage and 15 themed dining rooms, some showcasing Mardi Gras krewe memorabilia. The extensive menu, once exclusively in French, now offers French-Creole classics in both French and English. By tradition, it is closed to the public on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Mardi Gras but can be reserved for private events on these days. Dining during Mardi Gras and weekends requires advance reservations. As of March 2020, the executive chef is Rich Lee.
